Check the reasons below:

Load balancing

As previously stated, a Samsung washer will frequently not spin properly if the load is unbalanced or the drum is overloaded. An imbalance load may cause the washer to not spin at all or to spin too slowly to remove excess water from your clothes. If the washer load is unbalanced, most Samsung washers will display an Ub or UE error code.

Unbalanced loads can be avoided by balancing the load before beginning the wash cycle and not overfilling the washer. Similarly, an unbalanced load can be corrected by pausing the wash cycle and redistributing the load. Other suggestions include adding or removing an item or two, selecting the appropriate wash cycle, and not washing a single large item without a second large item to balance it out.

For easier understanding and follow-up on how to solve the problem of unbalanced washers, check the list below:

  • Check that the washer is level and, if necessary, adjust the leveling legs.
  • Open the door and distribute the laundry more evenly throughout the drum.
  • Make sure the drum is not overloaded or underloaded.
  • A hand’s width should exist between the top of the laundry and the top of the drum.
  • If you’re washing a large item by itself, add more items to the load to keep it from accumulating on one side of the drum.
  • Check the cycle selected using the user guide.
  • If the load is correct, restart the cycle.
  • If not, switch to a more appropriate cycle before beginning another.

Restart the washer.

The washer’s control board may occasionally malfunction, causing the washer to believe it can’t spin or that it’s overloaded when it isn’t.

Resetting the washer is as simple as turning it off for a minute or two.

If it was a glitch, the problem or error code should be resolved when you plug the washer back in.

Examine the door lock or lid switch.

A front-load Samsung washer has a door lock that prevents the door from being opened while the washer is running, especially during the spin cycle. The lid switch on top-load Samsung washers also locks the lid when the washer is spinning.

You may be able to hear or see the door lock or lid switch engage contingent on your model.

If you don’t notice this, you may need to remove the component and use a multimeter to check for continuity.

If a component lacks continuity (a continuous electrical path), it must be replaced.

The method of accessing the component is dependent on the type of washer you have. Top-loading machines frequently necessitate the removal of the control unit, whereas front-loading machines typically have a panel enclosing the lock that can be removed with a screwdriver.

Examine the drive belt

The drive belt in some Samsung washers is in charge of spinning the drum. The washer’s spin cycle will fail if the drive belt wears out or otherwise lacks the tension required to spin the drum.

A broken drive belt prevents the drum from spinning at all.

The drive belt can be accessed depending on the model and type of washer you have.

A front-load washer typically necessitates the removal of a rear access panel, whereas a top-load washer necessitates the removal of both the control panel and a rear access panel.

Some models may have a front access panel, whereas others may necessitate disassembling the control panel, top panel, and washer cabinet. While inspecting the drive belt, keep in mind the drive shafts it threads through are not damaged.

The drive shafts should be able to rotate freely and not have to work hard to turn the drum.

A screeching noise that progressively worsens, oil leakage under the belt, or the smell of burning rubber are all signs of a faulty drive belt or pulley.

Check to see if the washer is draining.

The drum will not spin if water cannot drain from the washer.

An obstructed pump filter, a clogged drain hose, or a defective drain pump are the most common causes of Samsung washer drainage issues.

If you have a Samsung washer with a front-mounted pump filter, checking and clearing the pump filter may resolve the drainage issue and allow the washer to spin again.

In other models, the internal drain hose and pump must be accessed by removing the washer’s rear or top panel. The pump can be unclogged or tested for continuity with a multimeter.

If there is no consistency, the pump must be changed and a new one to replace the old one.

Furthermore, the exterior drain hose can be disengaged from the back of the washer and inspected for obstructions.

Motor Coupler

A motor coupling is used to transmit power from the motor to the transmission in a Samsung washer with a direct drive motor. The motor coupler can wear out over time, especially if the washer is frequently overloaded, and prevent the washer from spinning.

Accessing the washer motor to check and replace the motor coupler is required.

Rods of Suspension (Top-loader)

Top-load washers have four suspension rods, one in each corner.

If a rod becomes worn or broken, the washer will be unable to balance the drum and spin.

The top panel of the washer must be removed in this case to inspect and replace the suspension rods.

Anti-shock devices (Front-loader)

Two to four shock absorbers are typically found in Samsung front-load washers, which help the washer maintain balance and spin effectively.

A vibration sensor may tell the washer not to start the spin cycle if a shock absorber is broken.

The top panel, back panel, and front panel of the washer must typically be removed to gain access to the shock absorbers.

A washer with worn shock absorbers will bounce around if you push down on the drum and then release it, as opposed to immediately returning to its original position.

The Drum Nut (Top-loader)

Samsung top-loader washers with agitators have a drum nut underneath the agitator that must be tight for the washer drum to be balanced and spin properly.

To access and tighten the drum nut, the agitator must be removed. Howtosgeek
