Simple and Delicious Pasta with Meat and Carrots
Ingredients (serves 4):
- 300 g of pasta (spaghetti, penne, or tagliatelle, as you prefer)
- 300 g of ground meat (beef, veal, or a mix)
- 2 medium carrots
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves of garlic (optional)
- 200 g of tomato sauce (or canned peeled tomatoes)
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of paprika or spices of your choice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan (optional)
- A few fresh parsley leaves (for garnish)
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the vegetables
- Peel the carrots and dice them finely, or grate them for faster cooking.
- Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
Step 2: Cook the meat
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add the ground meat and cook over medium heat until nicely browned.
- Stir in the garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
Step 3: Add the carrots and sauce
- Add the diced or grated carrots to the meat mixture and stir.
- Pour in the tomato sauce, stir thoroughly, and let simmer on low heat for 10–15 minutes.
- If the sauce gets too thick, add a splash of water.
Step 4: Cook the pasta
- While the sauce is simmering, cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to the package instructions. Drain well.
Step 5: Combine and serve
- Either mix the cooked pasta directly into the sauce, or serve the pasta on plates and top with the meat and carrot sauce.
- Sprinkle with grated Parmesan and fresh parsley before serving.
