Since its very debut in June 2015, Apple Music has become a popular music-streaming service among Apple fans. The service allows you to stream over 70 million songs, listen to playlists created by music experts, and tune into the Apple Music 1 radio station, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Apple Music can be accessed via a Windows PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple Watch, Android device, newer Apple TVs, and the web. Apple offers a three-month trial version, and Verizon Premium subscribers can obtain a six-month membership for free. That’s all well and good, but what if Apple Music isn’t everything you’re looking for? Perhaps it’s too expensive, or perhaps you don’t listen enough to justify the expense.
Perhaps another music streaming service has captured your heart, ears, and wallet. You want to terminate your subscription for whatever reason. If you terminate your trial version, it will terminate instantly. A paid subscription, on the other hand, will continue until the end of your current pay cycle.
If you change your mind, you can re-subscribe, but your new subscription will begin at the start of the next billing cycle. Here’s how to unsubscribe from Apple Music.

On iOS or iPadOS, tap Deactivate Apple Music.
On your device, go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions and tap the Apple Music entry. Tap the Cancel Subscription (or Free Trial) button and confirm the discontinuation on the Edit Membership screen. Users can also terminate their membership directly from the Apple Music app by pressing the Listen Now icon, followed by the profile icon in the upper right corner. Tap Manage Membership from the Account page to cancel or modify your membership.
On an Android device, press Cancel Apple Music.
Android users who have Apple Music subscriptions can open the three-dot settings menu and select Account.
Choose Manage Subscription and then Cancel Subscription. If you subscribed via the Google Playstore, you can also deactivate it via the storefront. To see all of your current and previous memberships, open the app’s hamburger menu and select Memberships. To cancel the service, click the Remove link next to the Apple Music entry.
On a Mac, click Deactivate Apple Music.
Apple dropped the iTunes app in macOS Catalina, so the process for canceling an Apple Music subscription has changed. If you’re using Catalina or Big Sur, go to the Apple menu, select System Preferences, and then Apple ID. On the sidebar, click Media & Purchases, and then click the Manage button next to Memberships. Then you’ll see a list of all your memberships. Click Cancel Membership next to your Apple Music subscription, then click Edit. Confirm the discontinuation, then close the membership window by clicking Done.
You can also deactivate and manage your Apple Music subscription directly from the App Store. Open the Mac App Store and select your account name and image in the lower-left corner. Click View Information, then, if prompted, sign in with your Apple ID password. Scroll to the bottom of the Account Information screen to find the Manage section. Next to Subscriptions, click the Manage button. Select Cancel Membership and confirm discontinuation after clicking the Edit link next to your Apple Premium membership.
